The Karimikui Factory, located in Ngairiama in the Kirinyaga district, is one of the three mills of the Rungeto Farmers Cooperative Society. This sentence sounds familiar to you? Oh yes, it does. Because in our roastery we obviously have a great fondness for Rungeto FCS coffees, they simply win us over every year (in blind tastings, for the sake of completeness!).
So this time Felix has chosen this Karimikui AA, because a real firework of aromas awaits us in the cup. The roast has everything you would expect from a classic Kenyan profile - complemented by a wonderful sweetness and caramel notes that play around the lively, fruity acidity.
Processing: After sorting (by hand and floating), the cherries are de-pulped, fermented and washed. The coffee is then soaked again in fresh water to enhance the unmistakable taste of its origin. This is followed by a two-week drying period on raised beds specially designed to ensure a stable and even drying process.
