Taba Coffee Village, Province du Nord
natural, 1700-2000 m
Variety: Red Bourbon

Taba Coffee Village is located in the northern province of Rwanda. Founded in 2007, fertile soils and tropical rainfalls characterize the climate, which is conducive for the production of specialty coffee. Only the Red Bourbon variety, which is traditional for the region, is cultivated here at Coffee Village - we opted for a naturally processed lot that impressed us in the cupping with its balanced body and gentle fruity notes.

Speaking of processing: as already mentioned, this coffee is processed dry (natural). The cherries are dried on African beds without depulping and stirred regularly to ensure even air circulation and drying.

We are excited that this coffee is not only certified organic, but the Coffee Village also takes numerous other measures to work in an environmentally friendly way. They not only use organic fertilisers and have banned all chemicals, but have also started a reforestation plan and are helping producers to introduce beehives to strengthen the ecosystem and ensure diversified sources of income.
